Welcome to the Bloor-Dundas Chiropractic Clinic Website
Chiropractic is a branch of the healing arts, which emphasizes the inherent recuperative power of the body to heal itself without the use of drugs or invasive surgery.
Chiropractors focus on the relationship between structure (primarily the skeleton and muscles) and function (as coordinated by the nervous system) and how that relationship affects the preservation and restoration of health. The vertebrae, which protect the spinal cord, sometime misalign and lose their normal function. This malfuction may or may not cause pain or discomfort but at the least, it creates a weakness and prediposes the spine to injury or dysfunction.
When injury occurs our bodies respond in a number of ways. Some of the key components of this reaction include protective muscle spasms, restricted joint movement, and inflammation. Healing takes place as our bodies relax and return to normal function. It is our goal to help people reach and maintain a pain-free state and improve the quality of their life. "Chiropractic" means "done by hand" and has become the most popular natural, drug-free healing art in the world. Millions visit their chiropractor regularly and enjoy all the benefits of a Chiropractic lifestyle. Being our best requires us to adapt to the physical, chemical and emotional stressors we're faced with throughout life. The purpose and intent of chiropractic is to ensure we can adapt by keeping us balanced and aligned, resulting in a lifetime of health and well-being.
Chiropractors do not consider a lack of pain to be a marker in your state of health. Chiropractors look at how well you function as an indication of your state of health. We owe it to ourselves to look after our health and looking after our spine and musculosleletal system should be an integral part of our effort to prevent injury. This effort will result in a better functioning spine and musculoskeletal system that work at their best and remain pain-free.
Please do not hesitate to call or come into our clinic with any questions regarding your spinal care. We are here to help you.
