WSIB - Work Related Injuries
Dr. Peter Munk accepts cases arising from work injuries. These injuries occur commonly in the lower back and are frequently caused by slipping and falling, bending and lifting improperly. When injured, normal position of the spinal vertebrae is altered and flexibility is decreased or lost. Treatment is designed to restore normal alignment and thus minimize pain and suffering.
Teaching proper lifting procedures and therapeutic exercise is an integral part of the treatment. We strive to not just relieve your pain and suffering and getting you back to work sooner, but help you, through education, to prevent future injuries.
There are some rules to follow regarding the claim of W.S.I.B cases:
- The injury must be reported to the employer.
- The employer must complete an Employee Accident Report
and submit this form to WSIB.
- Dr. Munk is considered a primary care practitioner as long as
the worker has not visited their Medical Doctor first. If the worker
has seen their MD before their chiropractor a referral note is required.
- Dr. Munk will complete and submit a Chiropractor's First Report
to WSIB outlining the workers injuries.
- Upon approval of the First Report, chiropractic care can begin
and it will last for the timeframe approved by WSIB.
- Requests for extended treatment can be submitted for approval
to WSIB should the worker not be fully recovered at the end of
the timeframe approved by WSIB on the First Report.
